Joseph Sagliano (~aka~ Joe “Big Papa” Sags) Watertown, Connecticut

Producer/Drummer Joe Sagsfor Social Relapse has been drumming since the age of 16. Joe studied under the instruction of James Miller, Tony Chirco, Ed Stockmal, Fran Merante, and Matt Byrne of Hatebreed. Areas of study include: snare drum and drum set, music theory, jazz, Latino, soloing and phrasing, endurance, live performance, and recording in the studio. Aside from his studies, Joe draws much of his influence from legendary drummers Steve Gadd, Bernard “Pretty” Purdie; John Bonham; Wil Calhoun, Dave Weckl, & Nicko McBrain.

Over the years, Joe has performed in the New England/New York live circuit with original acts Onion; Delvis; Holden Truelove; Jared McCloud; Inertia-Inc.; Naked Thursday; Enemy of Reason; Styll Remains; The Steve Coyne Conspiracy; and Empire featuring Kris Keys formally of Gargantua Soul. In addition, Joe has performed with party/cover bands Karmic Justice; Grady Seasons; Lost; 5 Second Rule; Just Hits; In The Red; and Soul Funk Band. Joe has also toured throughout the country with Celebrating Queen: A Tribute to Queen.

Joe is no stranger to theatre as well. He has performed drum set and percussion in the orchestra pit band for the musicals Footloose, Hair, and The King & I performed at The Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut in addition to The Broadway Wax Museum: A Musical Cabaret performed at Western Connecticut State University. Joe has also appeared on pre-recorded tracks used for a live performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night for New Zenith Theatre.

Joe has been trained how to work as a session drummer with artists in the studio to ensure their vision is achieved. Because of his work ethic and ability, Joe has had many opportunities as drummer for hire in addition to creating music compositions and recording his own projects. Some of those include: Kiwanis Kapers of Meriden Connecticut; Tom Chute of WATR; music composition for The Haunted Graveyard attraction at Lake Compounce in Bristol Connecticut; 1717 Vine St. by Jared McCloud; Holding On, Where You Belong, and Love Again by Styll Remains; No Sense, Inertia, and Waste by Inertia Inc.; Hold On by Brittany Gilbert; and in 2007 Bikers for the Cure, a non-profit organization supporting breast cancer awareness requested permission from Joe to use his instrumental song titled Lust In Motion in their annual slide show presentation.

Joe is a very dedicated musician/drummer and is always learning new concepts to drumming and music to take his craft to the next level.
